    In December 1831, the HMS Beagle set sail on an almost five-year journey around the globe. Amongst its crew was 22-year-old Charles Darwin, wanting to discover the tropical areas of the globe. Throughout this voyage, Darwin collected fossils and developed a rising curiosity within the pure world, significantly in crops and species. The journey profoundly formed Darwin’s considering and laid the groundwork for his seminal work, On the Origin of Species, which was ultimately printed 23 years later in 1859.

    Writing a guide of such groundbreaking significance required readability of thought. Darwin adhered to a strict every day schedule to remain productive. He would rise at 7 a.m. and dedicate the hours from 8 a.m. to midday to uninterrupted examine and writing. These morning classes had been reserved for his most cognitively demanding work: analyzing his findings and refining his theories. After lunch, he would mentally work by way of challenges on lengthy walks. Darwin’s disciplined routine and deep focus enabled him to sort out complicated issues over prolonged durations — a testomony to an idea known as “deep work.”
