    Si escuchaste “cuantización” y ya estabas pensando en ciencia de otro planeta o computadoras cuánticas resolviendo ecuaciones imposibles… detente. No te preocupes, aquí no hablaremos de qubits, realidades paralelas ni de cómo podría un algoritmo convertirse en Skynet. Vamos a lo que importa: cuánto nos ayuda la cuantización en la inteligencia synthetic y la ciencia de datos sin que siquiera nos demos cuenta.

    Pongámoslo easy: la cuantización es el arte de hacer que los datos sean más pequeños sin que pierdan su esencia. Es como hacerle una dieta a un modelo de IA: menos bits, menos peso, pero sin perder demasiada precisión.

    Los científicos de datos, analistas de machine studying y grandes empresas como Google, OpenAI y Meta la utilizan a diario para hacer modelos más rápidos y eficientes. Sin cuantización, Siri tardaría 10 segundos en responderte y tu auto autónomo necesitaría un servidor del tamaño de tu casa para procesar una curva.

    Básicamente, sin cuantización, la IA sería como un “gamer” sin tarjeta gráfica: pesada, lenta…
