REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – August 12, 2025 – In line with a not too long ago revealed report by Dell’Oro Group, the worldwide information heart accelerator market is projected to achieve $446 billion by 2029. Accelerators now account for roughly one-third of complete information heart capex, making them the one largest driver of progress, the agency stated.

“The worldwide information heart IT semiconductor and element market is projected to develop at a 26 % compound annual progress fee (CAGR) over the following 5 years, fueled by the continued growth of AI workloads and the buildout of specialised infrastructure,” stated Baron Fung, Senior Analysis Director at Dell’Oro Group.

“AI accelerators, together with each service provider GPUs and customized silicon, are on the coronary heart of this progress cycle, enabling a variety of AI and area particular purposes. Hyperscale cloud suppliers are more and more investing in customized accelerators to optimize efficiency and scale back value, whereas vital engineering efforts are underway to enhance accelerator efficiency per watt from the chip stage to the rack stage. Supporting applied sciences reminiscent of Excessive Bandwidth Reminiscence (HBM) are additionally seeing accelerated progress, with HBM income outpacing that of accelerators as a result of rising reminiscence content material per chip. In parallel, demand for high-speed community adapters, enabling accelerator-to-accelerator connectivity in scale-out networks,” stated Fung.

    Extra highlights from the report:

Customized accelerators will account for half of all accelerator shipments by 2029, though service provider GPU revenues will proceed to dominate.

The HBM market is forecast to exceed $130 billion by 2029.

The Ethernet community adapter marketplace for supporting back-end networks in AI compute clusters is projected to develop at a 59 % CAGR by 2029.

Dell’Oro Group’s Information Heart IT Semiconductors and Elements 5-12 months Forecast Report gives evaluation of the market with tables masking producers’ income, and unit shipments for applied sciences reminiscent of accelerators, CPUs, reminiscence, community interface playing cards (NICs), storage drives reminiscent of HDDs and SSDs.
